Life Update! Getting married and moving to NC

Well this year has been crazy! Some of my biggest highs and lowest lows.  After living in California for over 6 years I am so excited to be moving back home to NC. Sean and I packed up a U-Haul and drove across the country to our new home in Wilmington, NC.

After a night spent at a New Mexico truck stop with a kitty in tow, and more Chick-fil-A than we would like to admit, we realized that there’s nothing like a ride across the country to bring you closer. I would say I am a pretty good copilot, and not as good of a driver…. but we all have our strengths and weaknesses!

After the move, I spent time traveling the world for swimming while Sean stayed and worked in North Carolina (talk about long distance). This February I found out that the World Championships that were supposed to be held in May were postponed until 2023. Boy did that elicit an array of emotions and some tears as well. I was so mad because similarly to 2020, I spent the year training hard for something that wasn’t going to happen. BUT then they announced that a new World Championship would be happening in a different location and I was thrilled. Until they announced the dates…World Championships will start the day of our wedding. WELP that’s unfortunate. We didn’t want to move the already scheduled and planned wedding, and I couldn’t zip over to Budapest, Hungary after the receptions. So although I was bummed, I realized the best thing for me to do is just enjoy what is in front of me! I decided this would be a perfect summer to take off from swimming and enjoy a wedding, honeymoon, and the new house we are building.
